It’s hard to find a hat that’s specific to Huey dust off!
Great look, great fit and great quality!
Thank you for making my day

I think it's nice but we cannot find it at the VA facility my dad lives in. He flew Dustoff in Vietnam so it's the right hat. Hope we can find it - he keeps looking for it so the hunt continues.

Love this hat. My only complaint is that I can't get one with the Huey's fang toothed, skinny little Bell brother the Cobra. I'd buy two of those. We're waiting.

I was a Crewchief/Mechanic in the Army and flew on UH-1H/V. My last unit was the 498th Medical Company (Air Ambulance) and I served in that MEDEVAC unit during the first Gulf War. I am always on the lookout for US Army Aviation and Huey memorabilia, so you can imagine how excited I became when I saw this hat! There is nothing like it anywhere, it felt like it was made just for me! When the hat came, I found the hat had been damaged, Blackbird Flight Wear was quick to respond and make things right with a replacement. I wear my hat with pride, and I've received numerous comments because of its uniqueness. I love the apparel that Blackbird creates... It's right on top for quality and cool factor!

Blackbird Flight Gear makes the highest quality aviation shirts and hats I've seen or bought, and I have a closet and hat rack full of them to compare to. I'm so happy to have found their shop!

I take credit for the design of this hat. Another military website, 11Bravo, didn't offer this kind of hat. I contacted them and said, "Hey, I am a retired medevac pilot, my branch was MSC (Medical Service Corps) and you don't even have a t-shirt for MSC, much less a hat for the pilots, medic, and crew chiefs who did so much to save lives." They replied that they were quite busy and can't entertain every suggestion.
So, I found Blackbird, told them that they didn't have a medevac hat, and they got back right away and said that they design everything in-house and asked me for some ideas. I complied, and within about 2 weeks they had the hat on their website.
I have one for myself and have sent many out to fellow Dust Off pilots, friends and family.
They love them!

After 23 years of flying in Huey's I love wearing this type of cap. My MEDVAC DUSTOFF tour in Korea was one of the most prestigious assignments I had. I enjoy it when someone stops me and ask me if I was in Huey's after saying yes they always had a story about loving to hear it coming cause they knew they were going to be getting out of the heat of the moment.
Besides the Huey, I love having the American Flag on the side.
I know when I wear this one out I will be a return customer. I would be interested in a cap with an Army Master Crew Member Wings over the top of the Huey. Let me know if that is possible.

Very good quality hat with embroidered design. It is very difficult to find a hat design like this with just the helicopter/airplane. To find this hat - with just the helicopter AND it is a DustOff Huey - is incredible! Thank you.

It was a gift. He is a Vietnam vet. He flew on those. He liked it very much. Thanks

I have not received my hat yet, but I did send a hat to my dear Army buddy and fellow medevac pilot and one to my grandson. They both love it!
I was grateful to Blackbird for creating the hat based on my recommendation. I notified Blackbird that they did not have a hat for those who flew as crewmembers on medevac birds and that they were perhaps ignoring a significant number of pilots, medics and crew chiefs who risked so much to aid those who were wounded or injured.
Blackbird quickly got back to me, asking for suggestions. I gave them my input, and the new hat became available in about 10 days.
That is called listening to your customers. Another similar company, which will go unnamed, replied to me that they were just too busy to create anything new. Too bad for them!
